Desert Tactical Arms used to have a great dislike for monopods. They are traditionally very slow to operate and tend to get in the way. A military customer demanded we incorporate a monopod into the SRS before they would adopt it. We went to the drawing board and drew up a list of requirements a new monopod would have to meet:
1. It couldn’t protrude from the weapon’s profile or affect handling.
2. It must be just as fast to operate to support the rear of the rifle as using your hand.
3. It must substantially increase rifle stability.
4. It must be lightweight.
5. It must be rugged.
Two months later we had developed a monopod that met all our requirements. It’s lightning-fast and out of the way; weighs just 12 ounces; and is durable enough to pour handfuls of sand into without seizing up.
Our patent-pending monopod design is the fastest actuating monopod – anywhere.
Once your crosshair is on target just pull down on the knurled thumb wheel – the spring-loaded monopod spike drops to the ground, and turning the knurled thumb wheel left or right gives you fine adjustment to puts you dead-nuts on target in seconds.
The monopod substantially reduces crosshair movement to less than 1/8 MOA. Fine tuning gives you benchrest-steady precision without walking left and right. No more sand or bean bags required.
